“Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.”
People are always a little shocked when I tell them this. However, I think it is one of the most powerful positions one can use to define their life. If something interests you, if you have a passion or even just curiosity about it or if someone presents you with a new idea or project---just try it. So what if you don’t do it perfectly. (remember my other saying—what other people think of you is none of your business). The goal of perfection—not only being unattainable—is so limiting. There are so many fun and joyous things to do in this life and I don’t want to be limited by my degree of/or lack of expertise. It took me a really long time to learn to walk, and at first I wasn’t very good at it. Now I do it every day without thinking, but as my children know—I still fall down sometimes. That doesn’t stop me from walking. Embrace imperfection as it is the humanness that is us.
